My husband and I absolutely LOVE Home Depot. Not only do we buy virtually all our home improvement supplies there but our gardening items as well. In joining the Home Depot Garden Club, they will begin sending you coupons immediately and frequently for savings on plants. Having been gifted a baby Century plant just this week, I am in the process of determining what king of special flower bed we will put into the yard for this small plant to grow into the HUGE plant that it becomes. Can't wait to get started on it. As we are always adding more plants in our yard, the gift card would be heavenly to us.

Oh Boy! There are so many things to do right now.. Here in Sacramento ,ca we are planting Tomato plants, cucumbers, green beans, bell pepper, hot peppers, radishes, baby carrots, potato ,garlic and all of the wonderful herbs. A ""GREAT TIP"" is to get as many lady bugs as you can from ""HOME DEPOT"" and set them free at night. They will eat the aphids that love to eat your garden. Also you can plant BRIGHTLY COLORED MARIGOLDS around the perimeter of your raised garden. That will detour many unfriendly bugs that munch on your fruit and vegetables. HAVE A WONDERFUL SUMMER EVERYONE AND " HAPPY PLANTING"

I would apply the gift card to buying my husband a ride on lawn mower, which we have been saving for. My hubby enjoys being in the yard and yard work, however our 1/2 acre is much too much for him to mow with a traditional mower, because of my husbands hip injury he got during his deployment. This would make a nice birthday gift to him 6/9 for a man I admire and is my hero, who selflessly volunteered for the deployment so another soldier who's wife had just had a baby 3 days prior to the deployment could stay home and help his wife out with their new baby and the soldiers father. His injury requires a full hip replacement once he retires in 4 years from the Army at 42 years old. My husband during his deployment had to on his own had to squat and flip a 3000lb trailer over while they were in a bad part of Iraq because it had flipped over all this while they were taking on fire and were waiting for air coverage. It is a miracle his team all made it home safely from this deployment, because of the fact they hit 3 medium sized IED's while there and damaged or destroyed 3 Humvees because of it, luckily all injuries were minor, mostly abrasions, concussions, bruises and such. So this would be a gift to my hero.

I would love nothing more than to use the $500 Home Depot gift card on my mom. My dad passed away just a little over 2 yrs ago and just wasn't able to finish his projects. The biggest project he had started was remodeling my brother's room to make it easier to take care of him (he became handicapped at the age of 13). My mom just hasn't had the heart (she is still having a difficult time with the grieving) and to be honest she hasn't had the money. I would love to help her be able to finish some of his projects and possibly fix her a small little getaway out on her porch. Thanks for giving everyday people the chance to do things that they normally wouldn't have the money to do any other time. I would love to be able to give my mom that chance, especially during a time of her saddness. (amiller040@rehabsouth.net)

I would use it for fencing & lighting. I love the way fencing looks with dim lighting & plants.

id probably save it for a little while, until we were in a new home and could do some real damage to the gift card ;)

I'd use it to start getting the cement and outdoor living spaces to be something I could invite people over for!

I would use this wonderful money to fence in our yard to make it a safer place where I can let the children play, and not worry about them funning into the road.

I would use the money to put up a new fence and/or new deck.

I would give it to my husband to use it on what ever he wanted since he does so much for us!!!

This money would be so useful because we live in a townhome and our fence is about to fall into our neighbor's yard.

There is so much we would like to do - add a garden in the back yard and we need some help - you see my husband usually does the yard work because I have the blackest thumb in the world! Fence would be nice too!

I will dog proof my existing fence and do lots and lots of planting!!!

My husband and I just got our 1st home. He is so eager to do yard work. So we would buy and the equipment he needs for the yard such as a weedeater and hedge trimmer, and maybe I could get some paint for the inside!!

I would use the money to spruce up our front yard. It is small but has potential. Our son is turning 13 and is showing an interest in gardening and being very ecologically friendly. Making the front yard look better would be a great father/son project. Since the addtion of our new baby girl, we try to find special things for the guys to do together to bond.

I think my wife wants to replace our patio furniture now that we've built a new stone patio and firepit.

We're moving to our first house in 9 days and I'd use the gift card to help build a fence around the yard so my boys can play without me worring about their wondering tendencies:)

I would give the gift card to my wonderful hardworking husband. I have been eyeing the stainless steel grills for a few years now and would love to get it for him or he also has stated he wanted a fire pit.
What a blessing this would be!

I would buy a beautiful outdoor waterfall fountain for my back deck and lots of flowers and plants

I would spend the $500 new plants for the front of our house.

I would put it towards building concrete steps in our backyard because when we built our house the builders did not inform us that we would have a huge drop from our house to what was suppose to be a large yard for the kids to play. Well unfortunetly I have a disabled boy who is legally blind and two more toddler boys that can't even get to the bottom of the yard without assistance. So my husband wants to build steps but we have not had the money so this would REALLY help!!

a bench for the front porch:)

We still have a corner of the yard that never got sod (brand new house)and we would like to add some nice trees to the backyard. I'd also like to add a nice little flower bed to cover up the ugly green transformer box!

I would use the money to buy lots of perennials for my garden (I'm getting older, and planting new flowers every year is very hard work) I'd also get something to enclose my garden so it doesnt encrouch onto the lawn.then lots of nice decoratioins to make the garden look pretty. Judie

I would love to plan on building a pergola for my new patio. We took out all of the trees, and now in southern GA, we are HOT, with no shade. I would love to show my husband my plan and the GC... how could he say no?

Lori Beth said...

I would use the $$ to build a pergola and an extension to our patio. And if there was any extra $$ left over I would build a bigger vegetable garden to enjoy all summer long!

I live in a condo, but the outside grounds in front we have total control of. I pulled the bad bushes and put mulch down. I would like to buy bushes/flowers and redo the bed.

I would purchase new flowers for the summer. I have eight large flower pots surrounding my pool and the existing flowers are dying. I'd love to repot them with flowers that can take the summer heat.

We desperately need a fence in the backyard, so it would go towards the purchase of items for that. This way, I can have a little privacy for my kids, dog, and our little garden that I am attempting.

Add more color with more plants and trees to my yard. Start my flower and tree garden that would be geared toward attracting birds.

if I win....soaker hoses, mulch, and rock for the flower bed, paving stones to make a pretty walkway, paint to cover the cheap paint that you can't scrub crayon off of, and wallpaper remover!

Actually, I would not use the card for myself. I volunteer at Goodwill. They have a horticulture program that they use to teach skills to a group of mentally/physically challenged adults. I would use the card to help them, they have a limited budget and this would really help them! They are an amazing bunch and I love them dearly!

We would use it to put up a fence to keep our kids safe and our dog safely in our yard, and plant some flowers

It's time to replace our cracking, fading deck! It was built by the original owner of the house who did not install it correctly and the railing is unstable. Also, under the deck is always muddy due to poor drainage. We could use the help!

Anonymous said...

We would plant some trees and buy a new mower.
