First Love: Hot Chocolate

My first introduction to Carolina Pad products was the Hot Chocolate notebook that I picked-up at Target when I was looking for a fun notebook to use for my blog writing and notes. I was drawn to the design before I was even aware of the Carolina Pad products. Now I've been introduced to all the Carolina Pad collections and I've had fun spotting them at the stores I shop at. My Fave: My Organizational Folder
The Organizational Folder is my favorite product that I've used. It's a durable 8-pocket notebook that has transformed my "pile 'o papers" on my desk into a beautiful Hot Chocolate Folder laying on my desk. At first glance you think it's just a spiral-bound notebook, but open it up and you will find organizational bliss. This is my favorite product because it's the most useful to my daily office tasks. I placed a sticky note on each folder labeling the category. I can easily sort the papers on my desk into 8 categories and love this pretty new organizational tool in my office.

Collection with a Cause: Kendall Kollection

Jacqueline Savage McFee designed the Kendall Kollection in honor of her cousin Kendall who is fighting Leukemia. A portion of each sale goes to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I love the bright, cheerful colors in this collection, and what you can't see in the photo are sparkles that appear on products like the notebooks. But most of all I love the inspiration behind it and the cause this collection supports.

It's really quite simple to get started, so I wrote out these steps to help you:

1. Equipment Needed: You need to have either a headset or microphone for your computer so that you can hear someone talking and be heard yourself! You don't have to have a camera, but if you do this allows you to use the free video calls.

2. Download Skype software for free

3. Start talking! You need to know someone's Skype ID in order to call them, but you can do a search for it.

You are not limited to the free Skype-to-Skype services, because Skype offers affordable paid services too. There are plans that offer "pay as you go" or monthly subscriptions. Skype Connects My Family
I started using Skype after my friend gave me a webcamera for Christmas. Now we can keep in touch with my children's grandparents that we only see a few times a year. My kids love the interaction they get with the full-screen video and even like to tickle the screen. It's so fun for us (and for our family) to stay connected this way! And our calls to each other are free because we are both using Skype.

Skype For My Business
My blog is my business and it has grown so much! I planned on setting-up a business phone number and voicemail, but hadn't made any steps in executing that plan. Skype is now my business solution for my communication needs after trying out their Skype Unlimited World Subscription. I've got my voicemail set-up and will be purchasing an online number that anyone can call from any phone. Skype will help me stay in-touch with my readers and advertisers.

Announcing my Frigidaire Test Drive

Frigidaire is giving me this new Frigidaire Gallery Counter-Depth Refrigerator to test drive! I'll receive my new refrigerator at the end of May and will start bringing you my own product review so that you can find out exactly how Frigidaire is delivering on their promise to save Mom's time in the kitchen and laundry room.

I'm still in shock that I will get to test drive a top-of-the-line new Frigidaire appliance. I feel so lucky that it's coming at a perfect time because we were expecting to replace our refrigerator in the near future. Of course I'm happy to let Frigidaire replace it for me in exchange for blogging about my own experience as a "Frigidaire Test Drive Mom". Kroger is hosting a Kroger Reusable Bag Contest and they need your help and design skills! Design a bag and you'll get credit for one free reusable bag on your Kroger Plus card. This giveaway gets even sweeter! Kroger is offering two of my lucky readers a $25 gift card to Kroger.

Kroger really wants you to try one of their reusable bags next time you go grocery shopping! You can get a free reusable Kroger bag loaded onto your Kroger card to pick up the next time you shop - your choice of blue or black bag. In order to get the credit for the free bag, you need to create a design - it's easy and fun! Here's a tip, if you already have a Kroger.com account, look at the top right-hand corner for a "Sign In" link. It took me awhile to find this, and I kept getting the screen to create a new account. Happy shopping with your new reusable bag, remember to redeem it within 30 days!
